Reasonable people understand there's a balance between security and
rights.
But reasonable people do not
Why are *you* talking about "reasonable people" as if you know anything
about the what they'd do?
When it's something like a border and the potential risk is
national, compromises must be made.
If we are not going to live by strong values,
As I've already pointed out, we have among the best liberty on the
planet, as balanced with the ability to, you know, stay alive (deal with
threats from anyone). We also let in more immigrants than anyone. It
doesn't matter anyway, you'd *never* be happy, you'll only claim
something like 'I'd be happy if we would <fill in the blank>', but
that's BS 'cuz when it got filled you'd be bitching about something
else.
Contrary to your delusion, the
phrases "provide for the common defence" and "promote the general
Welfare doesn't mean 'Tear down that fencing and free handouts for
everyone on the planet!'.

No, rights are never a "balance". They are rights. Absolute.
True, so why do you deny Justice Kavanaugh his
absolute right to presumed innocence until proven
guilty?
You don't remember the "three eyewitnesses"?

No, no... Carroll is a victim of someone who hacked his Google account
in a way that Google and "several federal agencies" could not stop, and
then they asked him to keep using his account, and then he blamed

And then someone made a YouTube account with Carroll's name where they
post videos Carroll refuses to give up copyright to because he admits

These are all things Carroll really insists are true. It is mind boggling.

Sadly yes but all I can do is refuse to vote for any politician that
would rather help illegals than homeless Americans.
It's a shame it's come to that. I like the melting pot idea but adding
too many too quickly when they won't/can't assimilate is an ever present
issue. Now that it's been weaponized things are f*cked.
If they win the election soon they will need to fix the problem I
would think Obama did much the same as Trump just didn't want a wall.
What court order dealing with immigrants did Obama ignore?
Obama removed more immigrants a year than Trump has and you liberals
said nothing. What is that about other than a election gambit one I
hope you lose.
SC gave you a lose on the wall it seems. Now while I don't support
a wall I do support the barriers being repaired.
To me, a 'wall' can be better (and more) fencing. We need more than just
replacing the current stuff, there are still too many open areas.
Such as? Show a map and show where you want new borders made.
I'm fine with the areas identified by the CPB.
But you cannot find it.
??? The salient point isn't the locations,
When you speak about "areas" it is very important for you to be able to
say what areas you mean. Kinda key, really.
The only "key" thing is that they're "open" and traversable.
What areas do you mean?
The "open" ones that are traversable.
But you have no named locations, no less a map. Got it... you have no
clue what you are talking about. Not a surprise.

I already provided Snit with an article that pointed some out.

What's the big deal with "a location" when the CBP data shows there are
hundreds of miles of open areas that need to be addressed? That kind of
'argument' is Snit territory (IOW, goofy).

Because of what the word itself means. You're arguing that stereotyping
is the same thing as racism. I'm not buying that argument in the context
of a cop
It's *worse* if it's a cop, because of the amount of power they have.
I'm not gonna try to brainwash his thoughts so that he doesn't look at
what has already been shown to be a known threat via the stats.
So, presumption of innocence for Kavanaugh, whom multiple eyewitnesses
accused of horrific crimes, but none for brown people seen either a)
near the border or b) walking on a city street.
When you look at the number of people who didn't give him that
presumption, I expect it's more than a wash against him.
Who suggested Kavanaugh should be in prison without due process?
Who said anything about prison? People in a border zone are subject to
the laws in that zone.
And the BREAKING of US and international law. You and other right
wingers are defending felony child abuse tied to redistribution of money
to the for-profit prison corporations because their parents MIGHT have
committed a misdemeanor (though since seeking asylum is legal that is
not even a given). I cannot back the corporate socialism that you are OK
with, and even worse I will NEVER back child abuse as you do.
I'll take
mitigating border risk (which encompasses a LOT) over the potential for
a liar on the SCOTUS (not like we haven't had them) every day of the
week.
You accept a liar in the Supreme Court
I'd accept *another* liar
You accept liars... which is not surprising being that people tend to
back people like themselves.
on it over what I said, yes. They've already
done the major damage with the Federal Reserve, anything done after that
point is kid stuff in comparison. When you consider the amount of liberty
we have compared to other countries (that can't defend themselves to the
extent we can), it's a no-brainer (not a Utopian one, a real world one).

This fundamentally misunderstands the purpose of trigger warnings and
similar things. They have nothing to do with "material that might
challenge your preconceived notions". They have everything to do with
"material that might set off PTSD and the like".

As for the lack of climate change denial, creationism, "bell curve"
style racist "science", and similar bullshit, that'd be because it is
*settled science that these things are factually wrong*. The climate is
warming, evolution happened, black people aren't stupider than white
people, and so on. All are established facts, no matter how much
rightwingers whine about it, and universities are very much allowed to
follow science and evidence where these lead and drop things that prove
to be wrong and useless.

Of course, the right wing are not arguing in good faith when they push
these things, or they'd be whining about the need to "teach the
controversy" about phlogiston and the luminiferous aether, too.

The pattern is, they don't complain that wrong ideas aren't taught when
the correct ideas don't challenge the profits of giant corporations
(climate change), white supremacy (racial IQs not being different), or
Christian theocracy (evolution).

The *one* other thing that right-wingers constantly kvetch about in
connection with universities being sexual assault policies, because they
want it to be easier for privileged young men to rape and to get away
with rape. They're disgusting that way.

As far as we women are concerned, the ones working to roll back campus
sexual assault policies are "adhering to our Enemies, giving them Aid
and Comfort". Perhaps those ones should be hanged from the neck until dead.

Exactly right... but of course conservatives use this to attack those
who have PTSD and the like (which includes a high percentage of vets...
they people they SAY they back but rarely do).

Conservatives say they are being discriminated against when facts are
held higher than myths, esp. bigoted and harmful myths. They argue they
have a right to push falsehoods into schools. It is another sign of them
wanting special entitlements.

It is not about pushing one view vs. another, it is about accepting
things backed the evidence and not teaching lies.

"We women"? Proof, Ko0ky?

If you really were a woman, Paul, you'd know that in the
college environment, more often than not, it's the woman
who willingly opens her legs due to inebriation and/or
drugs but then has second thoughts when she sobers up

Why do you think backing more of what the American people want make it
harder to win elections? Keep in mind how popular progressive positions are:

* Green new deal – 69%
* Wealth tax – 73%
* A $15 federal minimum wage – 62%
* Free tuition at public colleges – 55%

Other polls have shown similar things.

do not have a government that represents us -- we live in a plutocracy.

Older polls showed this was true for both Democrats and Republicans...
but as we get more progressives this seems to be changing:

A new study finds that partisanship matters more than the influence of
the wealthy

Democratic senators side with the rich 35% of the time and Republicans

Same way as when you asked last time -- stop paying trillions for tax
cuts for the rich, stop redistributing money to the rich, stop
subsidizing large corporations, stop funding unneeded wars, ... heck, we
can even stop paying Israel $10+ million a day so THEY can have
universal health care and free education. You know the ol' take care of
ourselves first which right wingers SAY they believe in, until you
actually suggest investing in our own future and helping those of our
own truly in need, and then they cry "Socialism!" and insist we cannot
afford these things that in the long run SAVE money.

Now let me ask you how we can fund wars and trillions in tax cuts for
the rich, how we can afford to subsidize the meals and entertainment and
housing of the rich, how we as a country can afford to have billions of
dollars of health funding funneled into for-profit corporations, how we
can afford to pay a 1% tax from climate change (growing every year), etc.

How can we pay for such conservative insanity? Right now it is harming
the country greatly... so what is your plan to pay for it?

And, yes, I know you will run.

Stop funding unneeded wars now that I agree with.

Israel is a ally that you support the terrorist is no surprise.

You want government Nationalization of private healthcare. Buying
every private healthcare system in the USA would be expensive.

Free education is also not likely because of the cost. The liberals

Is Congress rigged in favour of the rich?
A new study finds that partisanship matters more than the influence of
the wealthy
...
Democratic senators side with the rich 35% of the time and Republicans
do so 86% of the time
-----
Now there is nothing wrong with siding with the wealthy *if* the wealthy
are siding with the people... but to side with them 86% of the time is
insane.
How will you pay for all this? Details?
Below you answer NONE of this. You have no plan on how to pay for these
idiotic conservative programs.

Even things like Universal Background checks are wildly popular. But we
do not have a government that represents us -- we live in a plutocracy.
Older polls showed this was true for both Democrats and Republicans...
https://www.economist.com/graphic-detail/2019/07/22/is-congress-rigged-in-favour-of-the-rich?fsrc=scn/fb/te/bl/ed/iscongressriggedinfavouroftherichdailychart

Details?
Below you answer NONE of this. You have no plan on how to pay for these
idiotic conservative programs.
Which ones?
The ones stated. And more. You have no plan on how to pay to support the
wealthy.
How do we support the wealthy?
You whine about investing in the future of the country and helping those

Yes, your taxes will likely go up some, but your insurance premiums will
go away. This will lead to lower out-of-pocket expenses for most. How do
we know this? Because looking at other countries we see the US pays more
and gets less... which makes sense, given how we are the only country
that sees *billions* of dollar siphoned off the system to go into
corporate pockets. Get rid of the system that redistributes money to the
very wealthy and we also get medical professionals not being forced to
handle multiple types of paperwork from multiple companies, and we get
the ability to negotiate prices with the pharmaceutical industry as a
HUGE buyer. In short: you pay LESS and get MORE.

So the question is not how do we afford to pay for this, the question is
how can we afford NOT to? Nobody seems to have the answer on that one.

As far as education: we need to invest in our future. We need to invest
more into K12. We need to invest more into higher ed, making it so
nobody who is capable and desiring to get a higher education is held
back by lack of funds. This, at first, of course means money going out
-- but in a global economy we are competing with the world. The better
our education system the better we compete in business and manufacturing
and science and more. The better our education the better we are able to
do financially... so in the long term this is a money making proposition.

So the question is not how do we afford to pay for this, the question is
how can we afford NOT to? Nobody seems to have the answer to that one.

No, the "work" Snit does is getting online and generating hate for
anyone who has more than he does, eg. "the rich," and making up fake
rallying cries like "entitlements" and "corporate welfare" that he's
never been able to support with a single fact.

Not once.

Ever.

Then Snit claims he engages in capitalism, so, according to him, we
must assume exploiting people and getting slaves is his ultimate goal.

Interesting.

The progressive side of the Democratic party is gaining power...
thankfully.
Which will make it harder for Democrats to win elections ...
thankfully.
I wish moderates had a chance of winning a primary.
The DNC tried it in 2016. Granted, she was a moderate with an active FBI
investigation and many other weaknesses, and even then she had a better
than 50/50 chance of winning.
Hillary was as bad as Trump. She lost the election the day she
called non-elitist working class Americans 'Deplorable'. She isn't
very bright.

The Democrats elected Trump all by themselves with their arrogance. It
was a election to elect Dumb or Dumber both choices totally sucked as
far as electing a moderate goes.

With Pete I love his comments on socialism.

Time to trigger the right-wing snowflakes again. Melt, snowflakes, melt!
Reasonable people understand there's a balance between security and
rights.
Going on and on repeating that until you're blue in the face still won't
magically make it come true, kook.
Wait... I am gonna do something you might rarely see: agree with
Carroll. To me it is not about the person but the idea.
We do limit our freedoms to have more security: for example, if
someone lived alone on a deserted island, it would not matter what
guns they have or how they got them. No background check needed. No
limit on types of arms (other than those which might harm more than
the island). But we give that up in a society and agree to background
checks and limits for the safety / security of us all.
We do NOT do this however by saying we thing this race or that, or
people of this religion or that or atheists, are "suspicious", as
Carroll does
Instead of merely agreeing with someone, why don't you just ask the most
It is bizarre anyone would agree with you. Sure.
What countries have more liberty than the U.S. while i being able to
simultaneously deal with virtually any threat?
Why is that the question, you might (should) ask?
The preamble is the reason for the Constitution, notice it doesn't
mention "privacy" rights at all. OTOH, it does mention defence and
general welfare (not the kind you're thinking of)
It mentions it... but not what? Oh. You are speaking for others and
interpreting things as you wish again. Got it.
so those things are
higher in order of precedence, obviously (which goes to "any threat").
Go look up liberty as it relates to other countries (not some Utopian
fantasy), you'll see we're in pretty good standing while still retaining
the higher order objectives in the preamble. Some smaller countries may
appear 'freer' in certain respects but they can go 'bye bye' *much*
easier. I know, this idea doesn't square with your 'liberal' senses...
it's that whole 'lack of reality' thing you have going on ;)
Carroll:
-----
Reasonable people understand there's a balance between
security and rights.
-----

Be specific: what rights should be tossed out the window to make sure
you never contact me outside of Usenet again, no less my wife, family,
friends, co-workers, employers, neighbors, clients, etc.?

Time to trigger the right-wing snowflakes again. Melt, snowflakes, melt!
I'm not a 'right winger'
Hehehehehehehehehehehehehehe.........
Why do you defend Trump and his Nazi stooges at every turn, then, kooky?
Pointing out what they can do is not defending them.
You repeatedly defend it with excuses. You defend and support bigotry.
You defend and support profiling people by race because you think some
races are more "suspicious". You even gave examples of different races
to profile.
As I've said a
number of times, I think Trump is a pathologically lying narcissist,
Hence why you back him -- he represents your group.
not
quite Snit level but close enough (but that doesn't mean I believe he's
incapable of doing the job... most politicians share those traits).
You think Trump is a "pathologically lying narcissist" but that does not
make him incapable of doing the job you want him to do. LOL!

Do you understand how badly you shoot yourself in the foot every time
you post such idiotic stuff?
I've
also said I don't like some of the stuff that's being done...
Such as him representing pathologically lying narcissists such as
yourself. Sure.
but I
understand why. To me, the irony here is Trump's moves on this are based
on things largely put into action by Dem Presidents (Johnson's INA and
Clinton's IIRIRA). Trump would *never* stand a chance of getting things
like that through but he didn't have to, the Dems of old already signed
them. Regarding immigration rights, some of the things you're in here
complaining about the loudest (that you're pissed at Trump about) are
'Dem approved' and not a word from any of you, despite the fact that
Trump would be unable to tag policy to those acts if Dems didn't sign
them into law in the first place.

Reasonable people understand there's a balance between security and

But reasonable people do not use that as an excuse to push bigoted crap like you do over how police should be suspicious of people based on their race, nor do they say that rape is something they should just "<shrug>" off as you do.
Notice how Carroll ran from this. He has no answer.
Post by Steve Carroll
Why are *you* talking about "reasonable people" as if you know anything
about the what they'd do?
When it's something like a border and the potential risk is
national, compromises must be made.
If we are not going to live by strong values, such as not being a racist asshole, what are you even hoping to protect?
As I've already pointed out, we have among the best liberty on the
planet, as balanced with the ability to, you know, stay alive (deal with
threats from anyone).
That does not excuse you being a racist asshole who says we should judge
how "suspicious" someone is based on their race.
Post by Steve Carroll
We also let in more immigrants than anyone. It
doesn't matter anyway, you'd *never* be happy, you'll only claim
something like 'I'd be happy if we would <fill in the blank>', but
that's BS 'cuz when it got filled you'd be bitching about something
else.
Notice how you speak FOR me instead of trying to understand what is
said. You do that a lot.

When Carroll snips dishonestly I use this to bypass his trolling.
Others
who troll, such as you, do not like it.
That is an added bonus.
When it says Snit answering Snit makes you look like a idiot.
Your anger is your issue. Best wishes.
Notice below where you respond with clear anger.
Why would you looking like a idiot make me angry?   That you work
around kids bothers me more.
Mattb responded by saying I ran away from calling him out on his anger.
Seriously, WTF?
Mattb saw this and lashed out in anger. Oy.
Why would you looking like a idiot make me angry?

Oh. You have none.
Note, I am not saying none exist -- like the Democrats I back improving
our physical borders and extending them where there is good reason to
think it will make a difference and not just be a huge symbol that harms
America and costs lots of money.
So you want a wall but are against a interesting.
A what? Seriously, what are you even trying to say here?
I do notice you never ask how to pay for the wall that harms America...
but you do ask how we can afford to invest in the future of America and
help those truly in need.

That is what Carroll keeps saying, even using race as an example and
saying that people of certain races should be seen as more "suspicious"
than people of other races.
This is how Snip contorts the words to fit his agenda. The original
discussion was about people wandering around the border <southern> area
and being stopped .

Face it, you two are just lashing out in anger and humiliation. You have
been making MASSIVE fools of yourself and just snipping and running. For
example, look at this claim of yours:

Carroll:
-----
Reasonable people understand there's a balance between
security and rights.
-----

I repeatedly asked you this question:

-----
Be specific: what rights should be tossed out the window to make sure
you never contact me outside of Usenet again, no less my wife, family,
friends, co-workers, employers, neighbors, clients, etc.?
-----

You have no answer. You want NONE of your rights to be tossed out the
window. You want special entitlements. You want to deny those of
different races equal rights, even saying you think police should see
people as more "suspicious" based on rights.

You made a complete fool of yourself. It is what you do... time and time
again.

Why do you defend Trump and his Nazi stooges at every turn, then, kooky?
Pointing out what they can do is not defending them.
You've done more than that, disingenuous k0Ok; you've argued that the
awful things they are doing near the border are somehow "necessary" for
America's "security",
Some of them unquestionably are
At least you readily admit your guilt, goosestepper.
LOL! You might as well face the fact that security and rights are a
balance for citizens and non-citizens alike.
No, rights are never a "balance". They are rights. Absolute.
In Utpoia, perhaps... not here in the real world.
So what balance is there in keeping people free of your harassment?
Be specific: what rights should be tossed out the window to make sure
you never contact me outside of Usenet again, no less my wife, family,
friends, co-workers, employers, neighbors, clients, etc.?
When you are wondering what people are thinking about you? They probably
aren't.
My guess: you will not list ANY rights you should have to give up so
others are more secure from your harassment. And if so you are a
complete and utter hypocrite.

Yup. And I have no issue reminding Carroll repeatedly what a bigoted
hypocrite he is. He wants OTHERS to have their rights taken from them,
including having people seen as more "suspicious" (his word) merely for
having darker skin (his example) and yet when it comes to him he argues
he has rights that should not be infringed (even when there is probable
cause to investigate him, and he even has been a part of such an
investigation).

Why are you arguing here if you're such a n00b you don't even know how
to google, Mattb?
How can they do this with what they have? Have open borders?
What?
Someone call 9-1-1. It looks like Mattb's having a stroke.
(Odd. Usually I have to go a *few* more rounds than this with a k0ok
before they're reduced to gibbering incoherence ... *snicker* ...)
This the best you can do. How do you propose they keep the families
together with the facilities they have now?
How about "turn them loose at the nearest bus station after informing
them of their asylum hearing court date"?
And then not insist they go from one state to another to go to their
hearings which leads to low levels of getting to their hearings -- which
is then used against them as a group.
Skeeter has no response to this. Interesting.
We don't change rule of law for outsiders.
Nice move, stupid and childish.

With their families. Some will have family in the states. Others will
need some assistance.
"some" assistance?
If they don't get free stuff like you said before, where will they go
and how will they live?
They will, for the most part, do as others do and work. And they will
help the economy. In fact, with our aging population we have need for
working age and younger people.
Where? To they just pick bus tickets at random and hand them out?

No, no... Carroll is a victim of someone who hacked his Google account
in a way that Google and "several federal agencies" could not stop, and
then they asked him to keep using his account, and then he blamed
himself for having a weak password, and then somehow the "hacker" did
not change the password like any real hacker would.
And then someone made a YouTube account with Carroll's name where they
post videos Carroll refuses to give up copyright to because he admits
they are his, but it is not really his account and... LOL!
These are all things Carroll really insists are true. It is mind boggling.
Anybody can download youtubes and make a new site for them.
Did Carroll post them on another FB account (or some place else where they
can be downloaded)?

And if not his why not file a copyright complaint? I have been on the
receiving end for STATIC I made — repeatedly have to describe to Google /

I tried that for about five years (I think one post to him in that

Southern Nevada Institute of Technology... a joke that goes

Sure
But that is a side issue to Carroll's admission he cannot imagine
someone getting something done in two weeks. I find that admission by
him to be funny. And quite telling of his incompetence.
He doesn't like you.
I don't like his constantly acting like a pre-teen with all his
trolling, puppets/shills, forgeries, bot scripts, etc.,
How ironic, seeing as how you're the one with the puppets/shills and bot
scripts.
Youtube how I made it. Anyone can complain about anything it seems.
when you bleed do little carrolls pour out
No, but he claims to have someone there taking pictures.
what if you don't answer him then what does he do
I tried that for about five years (I think one post to him in that
time)... it literally did not slow him down. He used socks non-stop and
blamed them on me, he lied about me, he begged for my attention just as
much. He lied about my family and my work. That was when he was
contacting my family and coworkers and more. He followed me from group

LOL! Snit... trying to use his "psych degree" again to 'make a sale' ;)
Your jealousy of my education is your problem.
I don't get it...
That is clear.
aside from "John" in CSMA (like 15 years ago), no one
has ever believed your ridiculous, unsupportable BS for any length of
time, so why do you continue to believe people are as stupid as you need
them to be when they *continually prove* they aren't? That's a serious
question. How does it work in your mind?
Your famous 'quotes' list, which hasn't been added to since like 2011 or
12 (and was not even close to complete back then) shows what people
think of you and why. Your own posts in that anxiety group about all the
meds you take, mixing them with alcohol, the sleep you don't get, your
admission you have mental issues, putting up many thousands of posts per
year (most of it goofy), calling everyone "obsessed" with you or "a
liar", all your trolling (forgeries, puppets, shills, scripts) etc. What
do you think it all adds up to in the mind of the viewer? I'm actually
not trying to be mean but you can't expect me to sit silent while you
lie your ass off about me like you regularly do.
"when you bleed do little carrolls pour out"
Why do you suppose he wrote that (funny as hell, BTW ;) ?

Why are things that substantial majorities of Americans want, like single
payer healthcare (60%), universal background checks on gun purchases (84%),
or free tuition at state universities (63%), not happening then, if we
still have a functioning Republic?
The Dems didn't want these kinds of things during the Obama era, when they had both
houses?
Thus proving that they don't represent the will of the people (a few,

Neither do the Rapepublicans.

So, the will of the people is not represented by either the governing
party *or* the primary opposition party.

It's effectively not represented at all in the policymaking process.

Therefore, Nadegda is correct: you do not have a functioning Republic in
America.

In the short term it appears that way but that's how the system works,
push/pull. Look at the article just referenced about how the U.S. is
more liberal than it realizes or some such. How isn't that "proving"
that, when looking through the lens of history, we haven't become more
liberal (anyone studying history knows we have)? There have always been
points in time where we bump up against what is perceived as 'the limit'
of liberal ideas. Right now the argument is: Does it make sense to have
so many homeless, addicted, or just dropping out of the system and
ignore all of that for the sake of bringing in people you know you'll
vote for you? You may disagree but that is the perception by many. Poor
people are most affected by an de facto open border policy, the African
American communities most of all. Think about what just happened, Dems
are *defending* the situation in Baltimore, worse, they're trying to
politicize it by screaming "racism" and they will do that up until the
election.

happens in every gov't.

There is good evidence that the Democrats, with their more progressive
change, are no longer focused on serving the wealthy as much as they did
before:

https://econ.st/2YirXVP
-----
Democratic senators side with the rich 35% of the time and Republicans
do so 86% of the time (see chart). Since legislators often follow the
party line, it is little wonder that Congress is viewed as biased
towards the rich when Republicans hold a majority.
-----

This is better than our past pretty much complete oligarchy:

Look at the article just referenced about how the U.S. is
more liberal than it realizes or some such. How isn't that "proving"
that, when looking through the lens of history, we haven't become more
liberal (anyone studying history knows we have)?
Sure we have. We have moved, for the most part, toward more equal
rights. We no longer have as open of a slavery system (though the
for-profit prison industry is effectively a current one in many ways),
blacks can vote (at least to some extent, though the system is set up so
something like 1 in 8 cannot vote), women can vote, gays have equal
rights to marriage, etc.

All of these are liberal (equal rights) movements, though we still do
have a lot of pushes for special entitlements, such as what you demand.
It is why you run from this question:

----------
Carroll:
-----
Reasonable people understand there's a balance between
security and rights.
-----

Be specific: what rights should be tossed out the window to make sure
you never contact me outside of Usenet again, no less my wife, family,
friends, co-workers, employers, neighbors, clients, etc.?
---------

You went into some detail before -- you do not believe you should have
to give up ANY rights, even though you think others should be seen as
being more "suspicious" by the law for having darker skin. Elsewhere you
gave other examples of people being profiled based on race.

You demand special entitlements -- and deny equal rights to those of
other races. That is where we still see conservative "values" (special
entitlements) in this country.

of liberal ideas. Right now the argument is: Does it make sense to have
so many homeless, addicted, or just dropping out of the system and
ignore all of that for the sake of bringing in people you know you'll
vote for you?
What the hell type argument is that? NO! We should be working to reduce
the number of homeless, addicted, etc.! We should follow the liberal
view of reducing redistribution of wealth to the very rich. We should
have universal health care, including mental health care. We should have
the minimum wage set higher and otherwise get money to those earning it
so we have more movement in the economy and thus a better economy and
thus FEWER homeless and addicted.

Why would you even suggest an argument for having MORE suffering? Who
does it benefit? You can deem them criminals and then disenfranchise
them from voting... so it helps Republicans (they fear the will of the
people).
Post by Steve Carroll
You may disagree but that is the perception by many.
I do see more and more understanding how Republicans want to turn the
poor into criminals so they can be deemed criminals who can be used as
slaves and lose their right to vote.

Trump attacking black communities as he tells blacks and other US
citizens with darker skin to "go home" is openly racist. There is simply
no way around that -- and even some of his own party are calling him out.

But the Democrats are moving to be closer to that. But, sure, we have
poor representation with the system akin to affirmative action which
gives those in less populated states greater representational power (up
to a 20:1 ratio in the Senate, compared to the 5:1 ratio at the start of
the country), the gerrymandering, the disenfranchisement of many, the
efforts to add hurdles to voting, the open invitations to have Russia
and others who want to harm the country have influence in our elections,
etc.

Republicans fight for each of these... they fight against having a
representative government.

Confirming that you don't really understand how this works.

A trial is needed for the finding of fact regarding *whether* someone
crossed without permission, moron. It's called "due process".

You'd consider it ridiculous if someone said "Shot someone? No trial
needed." and promoted summary judgment for gun murderers, right?

Why is "cross without permission" any different from "shot someone"?
There are lots of defenses: didn't cross/shoot at all; crossed with
permission (visa/asylum claim/resident/citizen immigrant/shot in self
defense); etc.

When you consider the amount of liberty we have compared to other
countries (that can't defend themselves to the extent we can), it's a
no-brainer (not a Utopian one, a real world one).
That's easy for someone with white privilege to say.

It is simply a fact that those with white skin benefit far more from our
system than do others.

You see that and take offense, like someone is putting you down or
saying this means you personally have not worked hard or some such
nonsense. Nope. It simply is pointing out a fact that you are a lot less
likely to face many hurdles that others do face.

cannot use reason to show the message to be wrong so they try to feel
somehow superior by attacking the messenger.

They cling to their attacks and ignore the message time and time again.

Obama got to be president, I am white, I don't get to be president.

And in the case of Carroll, someone with white privilege who demands
special entitlements. He will ALWAYS run from this question:

--------
Carroll:
-----
Reasonable people understand there's a balance between
security and rights.
-----

Be specific: what rights should be tossed out the window to make sure
you never contact me outside of Usenet again, no less my wife, family,
friends, co-workers, employers, neighbors, clients, etc.?
--------

He will run because he has already given his answer -- he does not think
he should have to have ANY of his rights limited in any way. Only others
should in his mind... and the "others" that he has listed are people
with darker skin.

That's part of the trouble.  Background checks don't give you
security, they give you a false sense of security.
Proof, gunl00n?
